There is no limit on depth. You can create parent categories with subcategories nested as deep as your catalog requires. That said, we recommend keeping it manageable, typically 3 to 5 levels deep works well for most e-commerce catalogs.

Yes. Products can be assigned to multiple categories at the same time. You designate one as the Primary category, which is used as the main classification. Additional categories help with cross-selling and navigation on your sales channels.

Channel category mapping lets you link your WISEPIM categories to the category structures of your connected sales channels (like Shopify, WooCommerce, or marketplaces). This ensures products appear in the correct categories on each platform without maintaining separate category trees.

Split a category when it contains too many different products that would benefit from more specific grouping. Merge categories when two groups are too similar and the distinction confuses navigation. Both actions preserve product assignments and can be undone.

You can drag and drop categories to change their position and parent-child relationships. Moving a category also moves all its subcategories. Product assignments are preserved during reorganization, so you can restructure without losing any data.
