AI for Akeneo

Akeneo structures your catalog WISEPIM writes the missing copy.

WISEPIM reads your Akeneo families and locales, writes the descriptions and translations Akeneo has no engine for, then pushes the values back.

The enrichment panel: the generated draft sits beside the source attributes, so you approve or edit it before it goes back to Akeneo.

Key features

  • Akeneo stays your source of truth

Your family/attribute model, your governance rules, your channel mappings: none of it changes. WISEPIM reads from Akeneo via REST API or CSV export, and never touches your structure.

  • AI enrichment Akeneo can't do

Generate on-brand descriptions, fill missing attributes from EAN, validate GTINs, and turn specs into structured fields. The work that makes your Akeneo data ready to sell and ready to scale.

  • 93 languages, brand voice intact

Akeneo handles locales. WISEPIM does the actual translation. Your Knowledge Library carries your brand voice into every language, so French, German, and Spanish output reads like your own copywriter wrote it.

    93languages

  • Two-way sync via API or CSV

Pull products via Akeneo's REST API or a scheduled CSV export. Enrich and translate in WISEPIM. Push the cleaned values back into the same SKUs, attributes, and locales.

Why add it

Why teams add WISEPIM beside Akeneo

Akeneo's customers love the data model. They just wish it came with the AI. WISEPIM fills that gap.

  • Stop paying agencies to write copy

Most Akeneo teams pay copywriters or translation agencies for the work Akeneo doesn't do. WISEPIM replaces that cost: AI generates a first draft in your brand voice, your team approves, and Akeneo stores the final result.

  • Don't throw away years of Akeneo setup

You spent quarters configuring families, attribute groups, channels, and locales in Akeneo. None of that is wasted. WISEPIM reads it as-is and works inside your existing model.

  • Add AI without an Akeneo upgrade project

Akeneo's own AI features arrive slowly and sit behind paid tiers. WISEPIM ships AI enrichment and translation today, runs alongside any Akeneo edition (CE, EE, SaaS), and doesn't require an Akeneo version update.

The AI work Akeneo leaves undone

The AI work that runs alongside your Akeneo catalog, captured straight from the app.

  • 93 language translation

Pick target locales once; every translation reuses the glossary and do-not-translate list from your Knowledge Library.
  • Akeneo round-trip

The Akeneo connection screen: choose REST API or scheduled CSV, map the channel, and the round-trip runs on its own from there.

How it works

Two ways to connect

Two integration paths. Pick one, or run both.

  1. 01

Connect Akeneo over API or CSV

Use Akeneo's REST API for live two-way sync, or push scheduled CSV exports if API access is restricted. Either way, WISEPIM reads your products, families, attributes, and locales exactly as they are in Akeneo today.

  2. 02

Enrich, translate and validate in WISEPIM

Run AI enrichment on any attributes that are thin. Translate into 93 languages. Validate GTINs against GS1. Generate channel-specific copy with Content Logic. All within Akeneo's family and attribute model.

  3. 03

    Push the enriched values back

Clean, translated, validated values flow back into the same SKUs and attributes in Akeneo. Your channel sync (Magento, Shopify, marketplaces) picks up the enriched data on its next run, with no extra integration work.

No. WISEPIM is the AI layer on top. Akeneo stays the source of truth for families, attributes, governance, channel routing, and approval workflows. WISEPIM handles the AI work: enrichment, translation, and validation, and writes results back into Akeneo. The two run side by side.

All of them. WISEPIM connects via REST API (available on all editions) or CSV exchange. We're not tied to any specific Akeneo edition or version. Customers run WISEPIM alongside CE 7.x through the latest Akeneo SaaS releases.

Akeneo has been adding AI capabilities (PXM Studio, smart suggestions). They're useful but limited in scope, locked to higher tiers, and slow to roll out new improvements. WISEPIM is purpose-built as an AI layer: it ships new capabilities continuously, isn't gated by Akeneo licensing, and covers translation, EAN enrichment, GTIN validation, and brand-voice content at a depth Akeneo's built-in AI doesn't reach.

Akeneo's locale-specific attributes stay exactly as they are. WISEPIM reads the source locale, generates translations for your target locales using your Knowledge Library (brand voice, glossary, do-not-translate terms), and writes the translated values back into the existing Akeneo attributes. No schema changes, no parallel data model.

First enriched batch within a week. Day one: connect via CSV export and run a 100-SKU pilot. Week two: switch to REST API for live two-way sync. Most teams have full enrichment and translation workflows in production within a month, with no Akeneo upgrade required.

Next step

Keep Akeneo, add the AI layer

Run a sample of your Akeneo catalog through WISEPIM and see what changes when AI enrichment, 93 language translation, and GTIN validation plug in alongside your existing Akeneo model. No migration, no schema changes, no upgrade project.
