PIM software for manufacturing

PIM for Manufacturers

Specs your resellers can use in the format they ask for

WISEPIM gives manufacturers one model for technical specs, classifications and media. Every distributor, wholesaler and dealer then gets the BMEcat feed, file or portal they ask for.

  • ETIM and GS1 GPC
  • BMEcat 2005 with ETIM
  • 70+ languages

Key features

  • Technical attributes

Typed fields, units and option lists per product family.

  • ETIM and GS1 classes

Adopt ETIM classes and GS1 GPC bricks into your own catalog.

  • Reseller formats

BMEcat feeds, CSV or Excel exports and a dealer portal from the same data.

Who it's for

Built for manufacturers like you

WISEPIM fits best when your specs are deep and your products reach the market through other companies.

Built for you if

  • Your products carry deep specs: dimensions, materials, units, certificates.
  • Your range is 2,000 SKUs or more, often in families with many variants.
  • Wholesalers or dealers ask you for ETIM classes, BMEcat or their own template.
  • You sell through 25 or more dealers and distributors, or in 3 or more countries.
  • Specs live in the ERP, engineering files and PDF datasheets, and nobody has the full set.
  • Someone owns product data, with a reviewer for each language.

Probably not yet if

  • Your products have few attributes and one language. A spreadsheet or the free plan covers that.
  • You need publishing to a GDSN data pool. WISEPIM classifies with GS1 GPC but does not publish to GDSN.
  • You just started a migration to another PIM. Finish that first. WISEPIM can work on top of Akeneo later.

Not sure? Bring one ERP export or one dealer's data requirements to a 30-minute demo and we check the fit on your own data.

Why manufacturers look for a PIM

Where manufacturer product data breaks

Engineering owns the specs, marketing owns the copy and sales owns the dealers. Without one product record, every dealer request turns into a spreadsheet project.

  1. Specs live in PDFs and ERP exports

Dimensions, materials and certificates sit in datasheets, the ERP and engineering files. When a dealer asks for the full spec set, someone spends a day putting it together.

  2. Every buyer asks for a classification

Electrical and installation wholesalers want ETIM classes with every required feature filled. Retailers and data pools want GS1 GPC. Each one means mapping your attributes again.

  3. Each reseller wants its own file

One distributor wants BMEcat, the next an Excel file in their column order, a webshop a feed URL. You rebuild the same export every season.

  4. Specs alone do not sell

Dealers ask for readable descriptions and titles, not a list of features. Writing them for thousands of SKUs never reaches the top of anyone's list.

  5. Every export market needs its language

Partners abroad need specs, units and descriptions in their language, and the translation quote grows with every new product.

  6. Old datasheets keep circulating

Photos, manuals and certificates go out by email in versions. Dealers publish whichever one they received last.

Setup and migration

From ERP export to first feed

Most manufacturers start with one product family and one reseller format, then widen the scope. The time it takes depends on how clean the source data is.

  1. Import an ERP or spreadsheet export

    First day

Upload a CSV, Excel, XML or BMEcat export. AI proposes the field mapping, you confirm it and save it, so the next export imports without remapping.

  2. Classify a product family

    First week

Adopt the ETIM classes or GS1 GPC bricks you sell in, turn them into families and attributes, and let AI propose values for the features that are still empty.

  3. Send the first reseller their data

    First weeks

Publish a BMEcat feed in Feed Hub on a schedule, or save a CSV or Excel export in the reseller's template. Check Channel Readiness first, then add the next reseller from the same data.

How WISEPIM solves it

What a manufacturing PIM should do

Six jobs WISEPIM takes off engineering, marketing and sales, each backed by a feature you can open today.

  • One model for technical data

Product families, variants and typed attributes for numbers, units, options and files, so a spec is stored once and reused everywhere.

Engineering updates a value once and every channel gets it.

  • ETIM and GS1 classification

Import ETIM releases and turn classes into families and attributes, adopt GS1 GPC bricks as categories, and check a product's ETIM conformance in the editor. AI helps map classes and fill features.

Wholesaler requirements become fields, not a project.

  • Feeds per reseller

Feed Hub publishes BMEcat 2005 feeds with ETIM features, custom XML and feeds for Google Shopping, comparison sites and Channable, on a schedule. Saved export templates cover resellers who want CSV or Excel.

A new reseller means a new feed profile, not a new spreadsheet.

  • A portal your dealers import from

Brand portals give dealers a private link to the products they sell, with your branding, an optional password, price rules, CSV or Excel export and a PDF datasheet per product.

Dealers stop publishing last year's datasheet.

  • Checked before it leaves

Quality Guard runs rule packs such as B2B data exchange and identifier integrity on every SKU, and Channel Readiness shows which products meet a channel's requirements. Products that break a rule go to quarantine for review.

Missing units and EANs are caught here, not by a dealer.

  • Sales copy from specs

AI writes descriptions, titles and translations in 70+ languages from your technical attributes and your Knowledge Library. You review before anything is published.

Dealers receive copy they can publish as is.

Integrations

Reach resellers and marketplaces

Most manufacturers supply data as files and feeds. Where you also sell direct or on marketplaces, these connections apply.

ETIM classes inside your catalog

The classification module shows each ETIM class with its features, units and values, and the product editor tells you which required features a product still misses.

Compared

PIM versus ERP and spreadsheets

An ERP stays the system of record for orders, stock and costs. The question is where the sellable product information should live.

A product information management system for manufacturers is the place where technical specifications, classifications, marketing copy and media come together, so every distributor, retailer and channel receives the same complete product data in the format it needs.

Yes. The classification module lets you adopt ETIM classes into your catalog, map your attributes to ETIM features, check a product's ETIM conformance in the editor and export BMEcat feeds with the ETIM release your trading partner expects.

WISEPIM supports GS1 GPC: you can adopt GPC bricks, or a whole class with its children, as categories in your catalog. It does not publish to GDSN data pools, so retailers that require GDSN still receive data through your data pool.

Your ERP stays the system of record for orders, stock and costs. There is no ERP connector: product data comes into WISEPIM from ERP exports as CSV, Excel or XML, on a schedule with automations, and the field mapping is saved for the next run. API access starts at the Scale plan, and Enterprise adds custom integrations.

Yes. Next to feeds and files, a brand portal gives resellers a private, branded link where they browse your products, export CSV or Excel and download a PDF datasheet per product. Resellers who also use WISEPIM can import straight into their own project.

AI fills gaps and writes copy, it does not replace your engineering source. It works from your own attributes and Knowledge Library, Quality Guard rules limit what it may write, and you review before anything is published. Test it in Prompt Lab on your own products first.

WISEPIM is free for up to 100 products. Paid plans are priced by product count, with unlimited users and every language included on every plan. Automations start at Growth, and Quality Guard and analytics start at Business. The pricing page lists the price per tier.

A first product family with one reseller feed is usually live within a few weeks. The time depends mostly on how complete your source data is and how many classifications and reseller formats you need. Nothing has to be switched off while you move.
