Pricing & Margins

Channel pricing that protects margins Applied on every export

Set markups, marketplace fees and rounding per channel, feed or brand portal. WISEPIM calculates the price each time products leave, and the price in your catalog stays exactly as you entered it.

  • Five calculation types
  • Charm prices ending in .99 or .95
  • Stored prices never change

Key features

  • A price per channel

Scope a rule to one marketplace, a single product feed or one brand portal.

  • Margin after fees

A fee profile per channel shows what each product keeps after commission and costs.

  • No price below your floor

Minimum margins and price limits stop a rule from exporting a loss.

Why it matters

Stop keeping a price list per channel

Every marketplace takes a different cut and trade buyers expect their own price. A spreadsheet of channel prices is out of date the moment a cost or a fee changes.

A price list per channel

  • Commission added to each marketplace price by hand
  • A new purchase price retyped in every channel's list
  • Thin margins found after the products have sold

With Pricing & Margins

  • Add a channel's commission once. Every product exported there carries it, new products included.
  • Cost-based rules start from the cost price on every export, so a new purchase price reaches each channel.
  • A minimum margin, before or after fees, raises any price that would leave too little.

Worked example

One product, three export prices

Three rules, read top to bottom. The product keeps one price in WISEPIM, and each channel gets the price its rules produce.

How it works

From first rule to first export

Rules only touch exports once you switch them on, and you can test every rule on your own products first.

  1. 01

    Set your defaults

Choose a default rounding and what happens when a product has no cost price. Until you switch rules on, exports send your prices exactly as stored.

Nothing changes until you decide it should.

  2. 02

Add a fee profile per channel

Start from Amazon, eBay, Etsy or bol.com rates for a category, or enter your own commission, payment fee and fixed fee per item.

Previews and the margin report show what is left after fees.

  3. 03

    Build rules from a recipe

Pick Marketplace fee, Margins per brand, Protect my margins or Charm prices, then set the scope, calculation, rounding and safeguards.

Each rule is summed up in one plain sentence.

  4. 04

    Test, then export

Run the rules on your own products per channel and compare prices, margins and safeguard hits before and after. The next export applies them.

You see every price before a buyer does.

Margin control

Catch products that sell at a loss

Gross margin analytics compares what you sold with what those products cost you, and puts the products that lost money first.

  • Below-cost sales, listed

Every product that sold below cost in the period, with its units, revenue, unit cost and the gross profit it lost.

  • One click to the fix

Fix price opens the product, so you can raise the price or correct a cost that was entered wrong.

  • Discounts in view

See what discounts cost you in the period, as an amount and as a share of the subtotal.

Volume discounts

Volume discounts trade buyers expect

Quantity breaks, tier prices and scheduled promotions live next to your products, aimed at the customer groups you define.

  • Tiers per quantity

Set breaks such as 10 to 49 units and 50 or more, as a percentage off, a fixed amount or a tier price.

  • Customer groups

Give wholesale, B2B or VIP customer groups their own discounts, or offer one to every customer.

  • Scheduled, coded and ranked

Start and end dates, an optional coupon code and a priority decide when a discount applies and which one wins.

  • Sent to your store

Volume discounts sync to Lightspeed and reach Magento 2 as tier prices.

Every discount with its scope, audience, tiers, schedule and priority in one list.

Per product

Price, cost and margin in one view

When one product needs attention, quick edit shows its price, cost and margin without leaving the product list.

  • Live profit margin

Change the price or the cost and the margin updates as you type.

  • Discount details at a glance

Each volume discount shows its tiers, minimum quantity, type, dates and any coupon code it needs.

  • Discounts per product

Tick the discounts that apply to this product. Global discounts already apply to every product, and the tab tells you so.

Quick edit's Pricing tab: price, cost, live margin and the volume discounts that apply.

Capabilities

Everything a pricing rule can do

Each rule combines a scope, a calculation, rounding and safeguards. These are the options.

  • Five ways to calculate

Percentage markup, fixed amount, cost plus markup, cost plus margin or a fixed price.

  • Charm and whole prices

Round to .99, .95, whole numbers or two decimals, per rule or as the project default.

  • A margin matrix in one rule

Vary the value by brand, supplier, family or category, and add every brand or supplier in one click.

  • Scope to any channel

Connected platforms, CSV and Excel exports, one feed or all feeds, one brand portal or all of them, plus product conditions.

  • Stacking when you want it

The first matching rule wins. With Allow stacking on, the next rule builds on its result, such as a brand markup plus a fee.

  • Safeguards on every rule

Minimum margin, minimum margin after fees, minimum and maximum price, and a cap on the change versus the current price.

  • Margin report per channel

Export price, fees and margin after fees for every product, thinnest margin first, grouped as healthy, thin or loss.

  • Sale prices move with it

A rule can adjust the sale price as well, so the discount stays the same in percent.

  • Returning prices stay yours

When a store sends a price back, WISEPIM recognizes its own exported markup and keeps your base price.

Who it is for

Built for teams selling in several places

  • Marketplace sellers

Cover each marketplace's commission and keep a margin floor after fees, without a second catalog.

  • Wholesalers and B2B

Run cost-plus pricing on a B2B feed and volume discounts for trade customer groups.

  • Brands with retail partners

Give each brand portal its own rule, so partners see their price list while your webshop keeps its prices.

No. Rules run when products are exported to a store, a file, a product feed or a brand portal. The price you entered stays as it is, and switching rules off sends your stored prices again.

Rules run top to bottom and the first match sets the export price. Turn on Allow stacking on a rule and the next matching rule builds on its result, for example a brand markup followed by a marketplace fee. Drag rules to change the order.

Yes. A rule can target connected platforms, CSV or Excel exports, all product feeds or a single feed, and all brand portals or a single portal. Conditions on brand, supplier, category, family or any other field narrow it further. Leave the scope empty to apply a rule everywhere.

Add a fee profile per channel with a commission, an optional payment fee and a fixed fee per item. Presets give starting rates for Amazon, eBay, Etsy and bol.com per category, using the highest rate in that category's table. Fulfilment, listing, subscription and ad fees are not included, so check the rates against your seller account. Once a channel has a fee profile, the margin report lists each product's margin after fees there.

Safeguards. A rule, or the project as a whole, can set a minimum margin, a minimum margin after fees, a minimum and maximum price and a maximum change versus the current price. You also decide what a rule does when a product has no cost price: skip it, keep the current price, or keep it and flag the product.

Not with the default setting. When a connected platform returns prices, WISEPIM recognizes the prices it exported itself and imports only genuine changes. You can also never import prices, always import them, reverse the markup, or keep yours and flag the change.

Volume discounts and customer groups are managed in WISEPIM and attached to products, categories or the whole catalog. They sync to Lightspeed and are sent to Magento 2 as tier prices. Pricing rules apply to every export channel.

Pricing rules, fee profiles and the margin report are included from the Business plan up, so Business Plus, Scale, Pro and Enterprise have them too. The pricing page shows what each plan includes.
