Both routes use the same importer and the same field mapping. The difference is whether your old system stays the source of truth.

  • Full migration

    WISEPIM becomes the catalog. Products, attributes, families and media move across, and you reconnect each channel to WISEPIM.

  • Hybrid integration

    Your PIM stays the source of truth. With Akeneo, WISEPIM syncs products in and enriched content back out over the connector; with other PIMs, the round trip runs through file exports.

How it works

Three steps to a working catalog

Import, confirm the mapping, reconnect the channels. Nothing is switched off until you have looked at what arrived.

  1. 01

    Export and upload

    Bring the catalog in from a CSV or Excel export, through the WISEPIM API, or with the direct Akeneo connector.

    The source data is in WISEPIM; your current PIM is untouched and still serving your channels.

  2. 02

    Confirm the field mapping

    AI proposes a WISEPIM field for each source attribute. Review the rows, adjust the ones it guessed at, and save.

    The mapping is stored, so a second export from the same system imports without re-mapping.

  3. 03

    Reconnect the channels

    Point Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce and the rest at WISEPIM, one at a time, and publish when each looks right.

    You control the cutover date per channel instead of scheduling one big switch.

It depends on catalog size, how many channels have to be reconnected, and how far the source model sits from ours; the estimator on this page gives a number for your inputs and prints the assumptions behind it. Field mapping is proposed for you, so the manual work is review rather than data entry. The figure is an estimate, not a quote.

Yes, as long as it can export. Akeneo has a direct connector: WISEPIM imports products over the Akeneo API and can write enriched content back. Plytix, Pimcore, Salsify, Sales Layer and plain spreadsheets come in as a CSV or Excel export, or through the WISEPIM API, and AI proposes the mapping onto our data model. Those systems have no direct connector, so the source has to produce a file or call our API.

Your old system keeps its copy, and nothing is deleted there. On our side, validation runs over the imported catalog and quarantines the products that fail your rules, so you can compare them against the source before switching anything off. Fields your export never included cannot be recovered afterwards; re-export them and run the import again.

Yes, each channel is connected once to WISEPIM. Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and the other supported platforms have direct integrations, and you can move them one at a time instead of switching everything on the same day.

Yes. Start hybrid: keep the old system as the source of truth and use WISEPIM only for enrichment and translation. With Akeneo you connect directly and push enriched content back; from other PIMs you import an export and take the results back as a CSV or Excel export. Moving to a full migration later reuses the same field mapping.
