Pimcore pricing: editions and costs in 2026

Pimcore publishes prices for its paid editions, and since 2025 its free Community Edition comes with a revenue limit. Here is what each edition costs, what the license change means for you and what implementation adds.

The Community Edition's POCL license allows free production use for smaller companies.

At a glance

Pimcore pricing at a glance

Pimcore lists four editions. The Community Edition is free under conditions, Professional and Enterprise are annual on-premise licenses with a published price, and the PaaS edition adds hosting and operations. The English pricing page shows US dollars and the German page shows euros, and the two sets are not an exact currency conversion, so we quote both.

The PaaS page lists three priced tiers per year: Starter ($39,900), Growth ($57,900) and Performance ($79,900), with an Individual tier on quote. Seen from Europe the same page shows €34,200, €48,612 and €66,612. The main pricing page still labels PaaS as custom, so expect the final number to come from a quote.

License

The POCL license and €5M rule

With version 2025.1, Pimcore moved its Community Edition from GPLv3 to the Pimcore Open Core License (POCL); 2024.4 was the last GPLv3 release. Under the POCL you may use the Community Edition in production for free if your organisation's total global revenue is €5 million or less, unless you are part of a group whose combined revenue is higher. Non-profit and educational organisations and non-production use such as demos and proofs of concept are also free.

Eligibility is self-certified and can be audited, and the license allows Pimcore to charge fees retroactively from the moment you pass the threshold. If your business is growing towards €5 million, budget for at least the Professional Edition. Our open source PIM guide compares Pimcore with PIMs that still use classic open source licenses.

Price drivers

What drives the Pimcore price

  • Edition. The E-Commerce Framework and the Customer Data Platform are available from the Enterprise Edition, together with the enterprise extensions and 24/7 support.
  • Hosting. On-premise editions run on your own infrastructure; PaaS includes hosting, operations, monitoring and auto-scaling, with Boost Mode billed by the minute.
  • Production instances. More than four independent production instances needs the Pimcore Unlimited Edition, which is quoted by sales.
  • Not the catalog size. Pimcore's pricing FAQ says there is no limit on products, assets, sites or seats.

Implementation

Implementation and partner costs

Pimcore is a framework as much as a product: you model your own data classes and build integrations in PHP and Symfony. Implementation runs through Pimcore's solution partners, and neither Pimcore nor the partner directory publishes implementation fees. The license is usually the smaller part of a Pimcore budget, so ask partners for a fixed-scope proposal and for the yearly cost of maintenance and upgrades after go-live.

Comparison

Pimcore pricing versus WISEPIM

WISEPIM is a hosted SaaS PIM, so there is no server, no PHP project and no license audit. The free plan covers 100 products. Paid plans start at €299 a month billed yearly for 1,000 products and reach €1,499 a month for 50,000 products, which is €17,988 a year. AI enrichment, translation and quality checks are included through monthly AI credits, a few cents per product depending on your plan.

Pimcore wins when you need one platform for PIM, DAM, MDM and custom applications and have developers to build on it. WISEPIM fits teams that want product content enriched and translated without a development project. See WISEPIM vs Pimcore for a full comparison and WISEPIM pricing for the calculator.

WISEPIM list prices in euros, excluding VAT. Visitors outside Europe see US dollars on the pricing page.

Every plan includes 3 content languages; extra languages are a monthly add-on. Above 50,000 products WISEPIM quotes an Enterprise plan.

Works alongside

Using WISEPIM next to Pimcore

You can also keep Pimcore and add WISEPIM for the AI work. WISEPIM reads your data objects over Pimcore's REST or GraphQL API or a CSV export, enriches and translates them, and writes the values back to the same objects, so your data classes and PHP extensions stay untouched. See AI for Pimcore, or compare other Pimcore alternatives.

  • Will you host on-premise or on PaaS, and who runs upgrades?
  • What does the partner charge for implementation, and for which fixed scope?
  • What does yearly maintenance cost after go-live?
