ETIM and GS1 GPC
ETIM classification in your PIM Specs your wholesalers accept
Adopt ETIM classes as product families, link the families you already have, and see per product which ETIM features are missing or invalid. GS1 GPC bricks become retail categories.
- ETIM and GS1 GPC in one place
- BMEcat 2005 feeds with ETIM
- HS codes for EU and US customs
Key features
Adopt a class in one step
WISEPIM builds the product family with its ETIM features, units and value lists, ready to fill.
Keep the families you built
The mapping engine links your families and attributes to ETIM. You confirm each match.
Know what each product lacks
A conformance score per product shows missing and invalid features, and AI can fill them.
Why it matters
Wholesalers filter on ETIM, not on prose
Technical wholesalers and buying groups load supplier catalogs into systems that search by ETIM class and feature. A product without them is hard to find, however good its description is.
Fewer rejected catalog files
Feature codes, permitted values and units come straight from the standard, so a partner's import check has less to send back.
One spec model for every partner
Classify once against ETIM and send the same data to every wholesaler that reads it, instead of filling a new template per buyer.
Found in filtered search
Values in the prescribed unit and from the permitted list are what technical webshops and buyer catalogs filter on.
How it works
From your catalog to a clean ETIM feed
Four steps, whether you start from scratch or from families you have used for years.
01
Adopt the classes you sell
Search the ETIM catalog by name, code or trade synonym, check a class's features, and adopt it. WISEPIM creates a product family with its attributes, value lists and units.
A ready family. Nothing you have is overwritten.
02
Link what you already have
Run the mapping engine over your existing families and attributes. It proposes the matching ETIM classes and features, and you adopt or dismiss each one.
Your own families, now speaking the standard.
03
Fill the gaps per product
Each product gets an ETIM conformance score. Fix missing and invalid features by hand, or let AI fill them for one credit per product.
Products a wholesaler can filter on.
04
Exchange BMEcat with partners
Publish a BMEcat 2005 feed with ETIM features from Feed Hub, pinned to the release your partner expects. Supplier BMEcat files that carry ETIM bring their classes and features along, so you only map fields like title and price.
Catalog files in the format partners import.
Mapping review
Map your catalog, do not rebuild it
Most catalogs are older than their ETIM requirement. Instead of rebuilding them, let the engine match your families and attributes to the standard and review the proposals in one queue.
Cheap matches first, AI last
Matches confirmed before are reused, exact and fuzzy passes compare names and class synonyms, and AI only looks at what is left, at no credit cost. AI suggestions are never adopted on their own.
Accept the safe ones together
One click selects every suggestion at 90% confidence or more. Closer calls show the text they matched on, or the AI's reasoning, before you decide.
Overrule the engine
Pick a different class or feature from the standard when you know better. A dismissed suggestion is not proposed again.
ETIM conformance
Find the gaps before your partner does
Every product in an ETIM-linked family gets a conformance score: how many of the class's features carry a value, and whether those values and units are valid.
Valid, missing or invalid, per feature
The product's ETIM tab lists every class feature with what is wrong, such as a value outside the permitted list or a missing unit, and a link to the field.
AI fills only the gaps
Auto-fill with AI proposes values for missing and invalid features only, picks from permitted values and units, and skips what it cannot verify. Valid values are never touched.
Checked again in Feed Hub
BMEcat feeds show ETIM conformance in Feed Hub's quality panel, so gaps show up before a file goes to a partner.
GS1 GPC
Retail categories from the GS1 standard
For retail and FMCG, GS1's Global Product Classification is the shared vocabulary. Browse it from segment down to brick and add what you sell as categories.
Add a brick, get its whole path
Adding a brick creates the segment, family and class above it, so it lands in the right place in your category tree. You see what gets created before anything is written.
Import a branch at once
Import a family or class with every brick below it. Bricks GS1 has retired are flagged, so you can pick a current one.
Change release or language safely
Move to a newer GPC release or rewrite the category names in another language. Categories keep their identity, products stay attached and nothing is deleted.
Also included
The rest of the classification toolkit
The details that decide whether a partner's import goes through on the first try.
Catalog in your language
Class names show in your language when the ETIM release carries it, with English as the fallback.
Pin a feed to an ETIM release
Lock a BMEcat feed to one release so it keeps matching your partner's import spec, or let it follow the newest installed release.
Re-sync an adopted family
Refresh a family against the imported release when ETIM changes a class. Existing attributes keep their data.
Partner-ready catalog header
Supplier name and GLN, catalog ID and version, territory and buyer go into the BMEcat header your partner's tooling reads.
A report after every run
Each BMEcat run counts the articles, features and values it sent, and warns how many products it skipped because their family has no ETIM class.
HS codes for customs
Classify selected products into the EU Combined Nomenclature or the US tariff schedule from the Enrich dialog. Codes it is unsure about wait for your review.
Who it is for
Built for teams that sell through partners
Three situations where a classification standard decides whether your products get listed.
Electrical, HVAC and plumbing suppliers
Your wholesalers ask for ETIM data. Adopt the classes, fill the features and send BMEcat from the same place.
