How Amazon FBA fees work
Amazon charges two main fees per unit. The referral fee is a percentage of the price that depends on the category, for example 15% for toys or home and kitchen and 8% for consumer electronics, with a $0.30 minimum in most categories. The FBA fulfillment fee pays for picking, packing and shipping, and depends on the size tier, the shipping weight and the price.
Since January 15, 2026, US standard-size products have three price bands: under $10, $10 to $50, and over $50. Holiday peak fees apply from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027, and a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge has been added to US fulfillment fees since April 17, 2026. Large standard and bulky items use the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight (length x width x height / 139).
On amazon.de, fees follow the European rate card: envelopes and parcels by weight in grams, a Low-Price FBA rate for most products up to EUR 20, and a 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge. The referral fee is charged on the price including VAT.

Frequently asked questions
How are Amazon FBA fees calculated?
Each unit pays a referral fee, a percentage of the price that depends on the category (15% in most categories, 8% for consumer electronics and computers), and an FBA fulfillment fee that depends on the size tier, the shipping weight and the price band. Since April 17, 2026 a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge is added to US fulfillment fees.
What are the Amazon FBA size tiers?
Small standard is up to 16 oz and 15 x 12 x 0.75 inches. Large standard is up to 20 lb and 18 x 14 x 8 inches. Small bulky and large bulky go up to 50 lb, and anything larger or heavier is extra-large. Large standard and bulky items use the greater of unit weight and dimensional weight (length x width x height / 139).
What are Amazon's holiday peak FBA fees?
Amazon charges holiday peak fulfillment fees from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027. For example, a large standard item of 1 to 1.25 lb priced between $10 and $50 costs $5.04 outside the peak and $5.34 during it, before the surcharge.
Does the FBA calculator work for amazon.de?
Yes. Switch the marketplace to amazon.de to use the European rate card: envelopes and parcels by weight in grams, the Low-Price FBA rate for most products up to EUR 20, the 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge, and referral fees on the price including VAT.
Is this the exact amount Amazon will charge?

Storage, inbound placement, low-inventory, returns processing, dangerous goods and oversize items in Europe are not included. For the exact figure, use Amazon's own Revenue Calculator, linked under the results.
