How the governance scorecard works
Product data governance is the set of agreements that decides who may change which product data, by which rules, and how you find out when something went wrong. In a single webshop that fits in one person's head. In a buying group, a member organisation or a multi-brand group it does not: members and brands each send their own version of the same product, every country has its own terms, and every channel has its own required fields.
The scorecard covers eight areas: sources and owners, the attribute standard, terminology per language, conflicting values, human review, change history and undo, channel readiness, and access control with service levels. Each answer describes a concrete practice, so the next step up is always visible.
Your result places you on one of four levels, from ad hoc to governed. The two lowest areas come with next steps you can start without new software, and a short note on what WISEPIM does for that area. When two areas score the same, the one others depend on comes first: deciding conflicting values and knowing your sources before review, history or channels.
Run it as a short workshop. Ask the central data team, one member or brand, and one channel owner to fill it in separately, then put the links side by side. Where answers differ by two steps or more, you have found a gap in the agreements, not only in the data. The answers sit in the page link, the tool runs in your browser, and it asks for no account or email address.

Frequently asked questions
What is product data governance?
The agreements that decide who may change which product data, by which rules, and how you find out when something went wrong. It covers sources and owners, the attribute model, terminology per language, how conflicting values are resolved, review, change history, channel requirements and access.
How is the score calculated?
Each answer scores 0 to 3 points. An area scores the share of its maximum, from 0 to 100, and the overall score is the average of the eight areas, so every area counts equally. Below 25 is ad hoc, 25 to 49 reactive, 50 to 74 managed and 75 and up governed.
Who should fill in the scorecard?
The person who runs the product data process day to day, ideally together with the data owners. Then send the link to the board sponsor, the members or the brand teams: the answers sit in the link, so everyone sees the same result and you can compare views.
Do you store my answers?
The scorecard runs in your browser, has no save step and asks for no account or email address. Your answers are encoded in the page link, so anyone you send the link to sees them. Like any page address, the link can show up in our site analytics.
Does WISEPIM decide which value wins when sources disagree?
No. WISEPIM does not merge records or pick a winner. It records the source of values that supplier files, bulk edits, rules and the AI write, can leave values a person typed or checked alone when automated jobs run, and sends uncertain changes to the Review queue, so your rule is applied by your people.
Do we have to replace our ERP or PIM?
No. WISEPIM can run next to them. Akeneo has a direct connector; ERP and other PIM data comes in by file import or the WISEPIM API.
How do members or brands get access?
A group uses one organisation with a project per brand, member or country, roles per project, and shared or fixed credit budgets. A central catalog can also be shared read-only through Brand Portals: members browse, download or import it, but do not edit it.
Does WISEPIM work with ETIM and BMEcat?
Yes. An ETIM class can be adopted as a product family with its features, a supplier's BMEcat file shows its ETIM release and classes at import, and Feed Hub can export a BMEcat 2005 feed with ETIM features for dealers and buying platforms.
